Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. These statutory rights are not limited by our 30-day change-of-mind policy.

Change of Mind Returns

We accept change-of-mind returns within 30 days of delivery, provided the item meets all eligibility criteria below. Please check fitment carefully before ordering — use your vehicle's build date, VIN, and variant details.

If you are unsure whether a part suits your vehicle, contact us before ordering.


Eligibility for Change-of-Mind Returns

All of the following must apply:

  • Return requested within 30 days of delivery.
  • Item is unused, uninstalled, and in its original condition.
  • Item is in its original packaging with all labels and protective wrapping intact.
  • Proof of purchase provided (order confirmation or receipt).
Items that have been installed, modified, or show signs of use are not eligible for change-of-mind returns. Clearance or sale items are final sale for change of mind but are still covered by ACL guarantees if faulty.

Electrical Parts & Special Orders

Electrical components (including headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps, and sensors) are not eligible for change-of-mind returns once removed from original packaging or installed. Installation can affect the condition and resaleability of electrical parts.

Special-order parts procured from suppliers at your specific request are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

This does not affect your ACL rights. If an electrical or special-order item is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, contact us and we will arrange assessment, repair, replacement, or refund as required by law. We may need to assess the item before providing a remedy.


How to Return an Item

    Contact us first

    Email info@mg-parts.com.au with your order number and reason for return. We will respond within 1–2 business days with a return authorisation.

    Pack the item securely

    Repack in original packaging. Body panels must be wrapped to prevent transit damage. We are not responsible for items damaged due to inadequate return packaging.

  3. 3

    Ship it back

    Send to our Melbourne warehouse using a trackable method. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping is at your cost. Keep your tracking number until the refund is confirmed.

    We inspect and process

    Once received, we inspect the item and notify you by email. Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.


Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Your bank may take additional time to post the credit. If you haven't seen it after 10 business days, contact us.

For change-of-mind returns, the original outbound shipping cost is non-refundable.


Exchanges

We offer exchanges within the 30-day window, subject to stock availability. Follow the same process as a return and note the part you'd like instead. Price differences will be invoiced or refunded accordingly.


Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives damaged, is not as described, or is the wrong part, contact us at info@mg-parts.com.au as soon as reasonably possible. Include your order number and photos of the issue.

For faulty, damaged, or incorrect items we cover return shipping and will arrange a full refund or replacement — no questions asked.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, if a product has a major failure you may choose a full refund or replacement. For a minor failure we will repair, replace, or refund. These rights apply for a reasonable time based on the nature of the product and are not limited by any fixed return window.
